Vixen gets a soaking after going for dinner that it spotted on the opposite side of a river

Not everyone's lucky enough to be tucking into chocolate eggs this Easter.

This hungry Fox had to go out and hunt for a tasty snack on the water's edge in Dorset yesterday.

The crafty Vixen was captured by an amateur photographer showing acrobatic prowess to leap across Christchurch Harbour after spotting three tasty-looking birds on the opposite bank.

Foxes don't usually venture into water but, spurred on by her hunger, this female sprang into action when she spotted the rail birds and made a desperate leap to catch them before they saw her and took flight. Muddied and bedraggled she emerged from the water only to find the birds were too fast and her prey had got away.
